News reporter Zahra Namuli has called it quits with Next Media services NBS TV as a news reporter after working with them for eight years. In Uganda’s media industry for the last two years, most of the news reporters and anchors have resigned joining other professions.
Most of them have joined politics, others have got jobs in government while others have gone to do their personal businesses that bring in more funds than the ones they were getting from television. For only this year 2022, more than four presenters have left NBS television and last year also a number of presenters especially in the news also left.
As November ended, Zahra Namuli took it to her social media to bid goodbye to people that were following her and supporting her work at NBS television. She also thanked all the people that have been part of her life throughout her journalism journey.
Beautiful Zahra Namuli didn’t reveal her next destination after resigning from television but we will follow her as Times News Uganda and we will keep you updated about her next steps in life.
“It has been about 8 years of learning unlearning and relearning.
To all those that have been part of my Journalism Journey I cannot thank you enough.
I am here to let you know that the Journey is coming to an end,” Zahra Namuli posted
Zahra Namuli has resigned on the same day as Next Media was laying off 60 of their workers they have been with for a long time. It is not clear if Zahra Namuli was also part of those that were laid off or if she decided to leave the station on her own terms as a person
It should be noted that apparently Next Media’s NBS TV is one of the biggest and trusted television stations in Uganda at the moment when it comes to bringing updates to Ugandans.
