Electoral Commission Sets Dates For Election of Member of Parliament With Fallen Speaker Olanyah’s Constituency

The Electoral Commission has set dates and the electoral programme for by-election of Member of Parliament for Omoro County Constituency, Omoro District.

This position fell vacant after the uncertain death of the former member of parliament and speaker honorable Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah.

During the electoral programme, the Commission will also fill the other vacancy for District Woman Councilor representing Lalogi/Lakwaya Electoral Area, Omoro District.

Furthermore the by-election programme will commence with an update of the National Voters’ Register from 14th to 19th April 2022, at update stations in each of the thirty-seven (37) parishes in Omoro County Constituency.

The date for registration of voters for the constituency will take place on 19th April 2022 and this will be the final day for registration and transfer of voters.

Other activities such as polling, campaign meetings and nomination of candidates will take place after registration respectively.
