Kampala Traffic Police Officers alongside Kibuye Roundabout in Katwe Division have disarmed an alleged Army Officer who was in casual clothes. This is after the plain clothed army officer tried to shoot the traffic police officers.
The incident happened yesterday Sunday 24th July 2022. According to the local newspaper Daily Monitor, the armed army officer was identified as Herbert Kakama who is attached to Chief of Training and Recruitment in Mbuya.
It is further said that, this Army Officer had bleached the traffic rules as he parked his car (Harrier) in the middle of the road and when he was approached by a traffic police officer on duty and in charge of the traffic flow at the Kibuye roundabout to ask why he is parking in the wrong place, he drew his gun on him.
Consequently, in the video making rounds on social media, traffic officers are seen wrestling with the armed officer on ground trying to disarm him. The gun of this Army officer in casual clothes was identified as an SMG rifle number UG-UPDF 49001495. The traffic police officer is in good health there was no shooting.

It should be remembered that it is now a habit around Kampala city of armed people in casual clothes moving freely around town.
