Award winning disc jockey Kiberu Bashir better known by his stage name, Dj Shiru is back in his annual Shurumatic Experience. According to the official communication, this will happen on the 11th of November 2022 although the venue is yet to be confirmed. Dj Shiru however at first will have a tour in different towns of Uganda before the D-day.
The selected towns include Mityana, Mubende, Mbarara, Masaka, Mbale, Jinja and Kampala. Shiru who works with Vision Group’s Bukedde TV follows other DJs especially the popular duo Slick Stuart and Roja who will also have their own concert on the 3rd of November. Besides, Shiru’s Shirumatic Experience has been happening for quite a number of years.
Just like other concerts, it didn’t happen for the previous two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And maybe it’s time to get that money ready and wait for further details on how to support one of Uganda’s finest DJs. Shiru who nicknames himself the 256 spin doctor started his deejaying career at the tender age of 17.
He was following in the footsteps of his older brother, DJ Rota who was another famous DJ in Kampala. Shiru’s first performance on the big stage was in the 2008 Pearl of Africa Music Awards.
The stars and gates of fame really opened up for the Masaka born DJ after then. He went on to perform for a number of international artists such as R. Kelly, Sean Kingston, Sean Paul, UB40, Demarco, , Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Busy Signal, Kevin Lyttle, Akon, Wyclef Jean, Chaka Chaka, Chico Chimola, Davido, Sisqo, P Square, Fuse ODG, Patoranking, Neyo, Kizz Daniel, Alaine, Diamond Platnumz among others.
He’s also worked with a number of musicians on a number of musical projects. Shiru has partnered with the likes of Dr Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Radio and Weasel, Eddy Kenzo, Cindy among others. When it comes to awards, Shiru’s cabinet is surely full of a wide variety of these. He is arguably one of Uganda’s GOAT deejays as he’s inspired many in the field.
