Zebra Isaac Ssenyange Mando Biography
He was born in 1980, in Kampala, Bwaise a Kampala suburb where he was raised a great man of substance. His mother died in 1998 and he rose to fame by his own.
Education
He attended Bat Valley Primary school for his PLE, He then joined St Francis Secondary School. However, he didn’t spend there a long time, he went to Kololo High School where he attained a boxing scholarship.
Boxing Profession Journey
After failing on education, he joined Dynamic High School as a boxing coach, a role that made him pick an interest in a professional game.
Zebra Ssenyange started as taekwondo when he was still a child and his first trainer was a gentleman called Erias who was a commando in Amin’s army. Erias started training him because he had temper issues and this was in Bwaise and when he joined primary seven he changed and got another coach called Abdullah who taught him Karate.
He then embarked on training boxing with the help of coach Kayongo who took him to the school team of Kololo but he was not a student of Kololo. Is because of this talent that Kololo decided to give him a scholarship.
He later won the school intermediate, juniors and other boxing competitions. In 1997 Zebra Ssenyange got an injury and quit the sport but returned in 1998 as a Dynamic high school coach but still as an amateur boxer. In the same year, he joined the nationals in the Walter weight but because of his energy, he was put in the light middle.
Then, he travelled in the same year in Nakuru for the Orafiki games but lost the finals and returned with a silver medal.
Zebra Mando joined the professional boxing in 2012 and his first fight was with a Kenyan boxer called Patrick Amote and his last one was with Bana Bana although he lost the fight. He then returned home Uganda in 2006 to settle.
Ssenyange Isaac Mando is a former national team (The Bombers) captain who featured prominently in the super heavy fights before he graduated from the amateurs setting to become a full professional. He is best remembered for having captained the Bombers to the 10th All Africa Games hosted in Maputo, Mozambique in 2011.
By and large, his 15 year amateur career was highlighted by 195 wins and 19 losses before turning professional when he debuted against Kenya’s Patrick Amote in 2012.
