Uganda’s biggest lockdown concert UG Connect is set to return to our screens today, the 24th of July, 2020.
The main objective of the UG Connect concert is to avail a platform for artists to perform considering the fact that they have not been given a chance to perform in over a year thanks to covid-19.
Aside from the above reason, the concert is meant to renew the energies of Ugandans that have been drained during the covid-19 lockdown which has presented multiple challenges. This shall majorliy be through music, dance and drama.
Among the performs meant to feature in UG Connect concert include 20 the country’s best artists including Chosen Becky, King Saha, Gravity Omutujju, Ziza Bafana among many other artists.
Basing on the event organizers at the Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC) as well as the Next Media Services, the event shall today’s evening in between 4pm and 7pm be aired on NBS television and sister television, Sanyuka.
Featuring on today’s edition to officially open the second edition include artists such as Nina Roz, King Saha, Gravity Omutujju, Ziza Bafana alongside comedians, deejays and various Mcees.
The first edition of the concert aired last Saturday, 17th of this month and it was held at the Next Conference Center at the Next Media Park which houses the Next Media Services in Naguru.
While speaking to media, the chairperson of UNCC Sam Okello said that as an industry which handles the creative sector, it is their objective to find means of propelling the industry even in such trying times.

“As leaders in this sector, we need to look for new strategic ideas that will propel the activities of the creative sector. UG Connect Concert is one of those ideas,” said the chairperson of the Uganda National Cultural Center, Sam Okello.
Additionally one of the Next media Services Board Members, the concept is meant to include everyone as he said, “No body is going to be left behind with this. Expect high energy, world class entertainment.”
