TOUGH TIMES: Vision Group to Terminate Staff Despite Cutting Their Salaries As COVID19 Hits Hard
This is to Start on Monday 29th June
Tough times for Vision Group staff are seemingly not to end now as after the heavy salary cut. In addition, done by the company’s administration due to challenges faced by the company as a result of COVID19 pandemic. In an Internal Memo that was given to all staff on the 8th of May, these salary cuts were to be accompanied by unpaid leave, and more measures.
Now word reaching us indicate that still, despite all the measures put in place to make the company survive with its workers, the Robert Kabushenga headed Vision Group has failed as its hinges in balance to either collapse or lay off workers completely that have redundant positions Kabushenga informed.
It is further learned that the Board decided in its meeting on June 25th that they terminate all jobs. In addition, for those that were affected and on Monday 29th, department heads will inform their affected juniors on each and everybody’s fate. All staff from the group member stations like Bukedde television, Urban television. In addition, Rupiny, Orumuri, TV West, Xfm, Bukedde radio and more are affected.
“For this reason, the board at its meeting on 25th decided to terminate the services. In addition, of those whose jobs have been affected in this manner. The concerned staff will be informed on Monday by their respective Heads of Department” part of the lengthy email sent to all staff read. Vision Group has been one of the few companies that have been still struggling to keep there staff at work. However, it seems tables are shaking more.
