Maj Gen Abel Kandiho has been Uganda’s Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI), he has been recently removed from his position and posted to South Sudan yet to be newly position in the Uganda army.

Who is Abel Kandiho?

Abel Kandiho is a God fearing humble man, caring, considerate, meticulous and a keen listener. He has a lot of  love and passion for the army and country, who commanded many great fights against criminality on Uganda.

Early Life and Education.

General Abel Kandiho was born in Gomba District in central part of Uganda. His education is not well known but he joined the army at a very young age.

Work and Experience.

Maj Gen Abel Kandiho has been Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI) in Uganda for six years, where he was appointed to the position in January 2017. He has also been a lot involved in the army intelligence network.

Net worth.

Gen. Abel Kandihio’s net worth is not well known but according to the army he earned the money amounting to over two Ugandan million shillings every month as army salary.


At the help of CMI, Gen Kandiho on the 14th of August met Burundi President Ndiyishimiye for a talk aimed at strengthening Burundi and Uganda’s relations.

Also, Uganda, Egypt through Kandiho signed the Intelligence sharing Protocol purposely to combat terrorism. While in December 2020, he signed a memorandum of understanding with the Egyptian intelligence unit at CMI headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala.
