Chief Justice Bart Katureebe Officially Leaves Office to His Deputy After 5 Years of Service.

Chief Justice Bart Katureebe Born from the Western district of Uganda Rubirizi 69 years ago who officially handed over office today the 22nd of June 2020 has been in the justice streamline, politics and is one of those judges that have retired peacefully with a very clean and strong record.

WHO IS BART KATUREEBE?

He attended Namilyango College a boarding boys School in Mukono district. In addition, for his A’level Education from 1969 to 1970 before joining Makerere University.  He later enrolled at Makerere University. This is where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in law from the same institution after four years.

Katureebe who is aged 69 resides in Uganda’s capital, Kampala. He has been working with his deputy one Alfonse Owiny-Dollo. Mr. Owiny has fully assumed his roles and taken over the office of the former Chief justice Bart Katureebe. In addition, after handing in his resignation letter later last week.

It should however be noted that in 1983, he went into private practice until 1988 when he was appointed deputy minister in charge of regional cooperation. From 1991 to 1992, Katureebe served as deputy minister of industry and technology before he was appointed minister of state for health.

In 1994, Katureebe was elected to the Constituent Assembly (CA) representing Bunyaruguru county. Katureebe is a married man with children too. We shall keep you posted on the latest development, keep it TimesUg
