Yolanda Cuba, MTN’S New Vice President’s First Visit In Uganda

Having been in office for three years, Ebenezer Asante has today handed over office to Yolanda Cuba who is currently the new Vice President for MTN Southern and Eastern Markets.

The newly elected Vice President has today visited Uganda with a great mission to make MTN a better network. Her focus is to increase mobile and internet penetration, innovation youth empowerment and many more

While in the handover ceremony at MTN offices, Asante appreciated the people he has worked with for all the three years.

“I am very humbled to have served as VP for the Southern and Eastern Markets for three years. I am also grateful for the warm welcome I received when I first joined. The people and countries are all unique in their own ways and as MTN, we are thankful that you continue to allow us to serve you all,” he said.

Additionally, Cuba also revealed her plan and how focused she is to make MTN a better network in the region.

“In the next five years MTN is getting to the 90 per cent coverage in terms of network, we shall focus on growing our investments in the country. We promise to creat jobs for the youths and increase the  mobile and internet penetration which currently ranks low in Uganda compared to her regional counterparts through boosting access to handset devices.” She said.

On her first visit as the Vice President of MTN, Cuba was able to interact with the key MTN external stakeholders inclusive of; the Prime Minister of Uganda, Minister of ICTA cting Executive Director for Uganda Communications Commission, Deputy Governor Bank of Uganda, Commissioner General Uganda Revenue Authority and South Africa high commissioner.
