President of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), singer Ykee Benda has urged authorities to get away from the club banger Tumbiza Sound or not ban it, stating that the song intends no harm. But rather make people shed off stress.
While weighing in on the Ministry of Health’s attempts to prohibit the song on electronic and
social media, the Munakampala hit singer urged MoH and UCC to forgive EezZy if he did a mistake. rather than banning his song completely.
“I kindly request the Ministry Of Health & Uganda Communications Commission ( UCC) to please
please forgive EezZy if he went wrong somewhere while creating this song but please don’t put
a ban on his song Tumbiza Sound because this is young Ugandan trying to make ends meet,” he mentioned. He also urged authorities to engage with the young artiste to get a better perspective.
“You can also invite him and guide him more than putting a ban on a song that he invested in his
whole in such a situation. It’s tough this side,” he further mentioned. MoH recently asked the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) to ban Eric Opoka aka EezZy’s hit over misleading remarks.
Health officials however argue that the misinformation in the song downplays the severity of
the coronavirus disease and encourages people to carry on with life as normal. The Ministry of Health yesterday 18th December confirmed 710 new COVID-19 cases and two more deaths.
