A few months ago, Cindy Sanyu was appointed as the new Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) president. For a few months, she has been the president Ykee Benda who is the former president finds her a great leader and also appreciates her work. He said Cindy is doing a better job than the former presidents. Be a she has taken the association further than Benda left it.
“Cindy is doing a good job. She has managed to move the association forward. She has put UMA at a better level than I left it. We would not want the mistakes we did to be repeated by the next president” Ykee Benda said while appearing on SparkTV.
For the short time she has been in the president seat Cindy managed to organize a meeting where she was to register all musicians in Kampala. The meet was a success as it was greatly attended by both the upcoming and established Musicians.

Ykee Benda resigned as the Ugandan Musicians Association president after taking over from Sophie Combya who quit because she wanted to concentrate on her political career.
