Her Excellency SAMIA Suluhu Hassan is a Tanzanian politician who is currently the only female national leader. She replaced President John Pombe Magufuli who died on March 17.
President Magufuli was supposed to be in Uganda on March 22 for the signing of the pipeline deal between the governments of Uganda and Tanzania and the French oil Giant Total, the lead investigator. Due to the tragedy that happened, Uganda had to postpone the ceremony to early April.
H.E Samia Hassan has today arrived at state house in Entebbe on an invitation of President Kaguta Museveni to among others sign the long awaited East African Crude Oil Pipeline Tripartite project pact which is also the final investment decision with oil companies Total E&P and CNOOC.
Today being her first time in Uganda as the head of state, Her Excellency Suluhu Samia Hassan will inspect a guard of honor and receive a gun salute as a welcome to the country.
