Uganda’s Entertainment industry has stood for a long time and previously in the ‘dark’ days, it used to stand on one leg which was music. However, as the environment evolved with modernity and technology, other legs started to come in and ah, here we are, Uganda Entertainment is now standing firm and stronger.
Uganda’s Entertainment industry as we said was known for comprising only music. However now other branches came in that include Ugandan Movies, Drama, Updated Entertainment performances.
In addition, and the Comedy leg also joined the wagon. Therefore these have all combined and formed a whole Uganda’s entertainment industry today block.
It should be noted that Kadongo Kamu genre was the first sound to be made. This was purely Ugandan and it was started by a one Fred Masagazi in the early 1960’s. Then late Elly Wamala contributed a lot in making urban Kadongo Kamu style. He was then followed by Christopher Sebadduka who popularized the genre. Today, Uganda’s Entertainment industry has huge names like Bebe Cool, Eddy Kenzo, Juliana Kanyomozi. In addition, John Blaq, Rema, Sheebah Karungi and many more who have transformed it.

On the other hand, thew movie sector has acting and drama too has seen the growth from acting without scrip[ts and use of poor quality equipment to use of all quality equipment and following the steps of production to great images for big screens.
Again, Uganda’s Comedy sector has tremendously improved from the old days of Dikuula to the modernized days of stand up and group comedy. Names like Chiko and Madrat, Pablo, Mariachi, Amooti, Mc Kapale and many more will rock your mind when they mention Uganda’s comedy industry.
