Ssegirinya Wins Petition Case as Court Issues Final Statement

The currently incarcerated Kawempe North MP-elect Hon. Muhammed Ssegirinya and his team have overturned the petition that was challenging his election over the lack of ‘authentic’ academic documents.
The legislator had been aligned in the courts of law to answer charges in relation with forgery of academic documents and impersonation by his opponent from the same constituency.
The petition was filed by his opponent Kidandala Sulaiman alleging that Ssegirinya Mohammed was illegally nominated by the electoral commission and that he did not possess legible documents to qualify him for that electoral position.
The statement from the court however asserts that Ssegirinya was legally elected and that he fulfilled his necessary requirements as stated in the constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
