Taxi driver Henry Kabiito who is also Winnie Nwagi’s father has cried out to President Museveni not to close public transport.
According to him, in case the president closes public transport, many of them shall starve to this since their only source of livelihood will have been closed for a second time in such a short period.
Previously, the president had closed schools for 42 days with effect from 7th June due to an increasing number of patients suffering from the coronavirus as reported by the Ministry of Health.
Alongside the 42 day lockdown, the president said transport between districts had been given up to 10th June just to facilitate students’ return home and anything past that, transport in between borders would be shut down.
This only means that today should be the last day for city dwellers to set foot out of Kampala city until the partial 42 days lockdown that started on 7th June comes to an end in mid-June.
Due to Mr.Kabiito who is a taxi driver operating on the Masaka stage in Kampala stage decided to make a plea to the head of state to reconsider his decision because they are already suffering greatly.
According to him, he believes that passengers who have got the Covid-19 jab should be allowed to travel so that the taxi business does not get crippled like it was during the previous lockdown.
