Musician Sheebah Karungi might be one of the biggest and most trending artists at the moment idolized by many upcoming singers. But that doesn’t mean that she didn’t look up to anyone. Her story to success is documented and its one of those full of ups and downs. Sheebah while appearing on NTV’s Mwasuze Mutya program revealed that one artist she looked up to and this came as a surprise because it’s none other than Cindy.
The Nakyuka singer said that even reached out to the Boom Party singer and asked her to write her a song. Sheebah Karungi wanted to record this song with Producer Washington and she was all shivering first time she entered studio. This is because she learnt less while in Obsessions. According to the former TNS singer, she joined the group at age 17. The other members in the group didn’t look at her very well as they didn’t see her befitting in them.
“I was a fan of musician Sanyu Cindy. I looked for her and asked her to write me a song which I wanted producer Washington to work on. I had a lot of panic recording this song considering that I never sang much while in the Obsessions,” she said.
“I joined the Obsessions at age 17. My life in Obsessions was tricky since I was just a former Karaoke performer. Most of the girls in rhe group saw me unfit to be among them. I wasn’t a priority and used to earn less or nothing at all,” she added.
The singer currently is arguably the most sellable and successful female artist. For her inspiration being Cindy, the two have seemingly not been in the best of terms. Severally they have clashed in the search for dominance in a beef fueled mainly by their fans.
