Reasons why Isma Olaxess criticizes Eddy Kenzo’s Grammy nomination

Social media blogger Isma Olaxess also know as Jajja Ichuli has come out to critize singer Eddy Kenzo real name Edirisa Musuuza’s Grammy nomination. Eddy Kenzo is one of the few Ugandan artistes that has been recognized internationally.

From Ghetto and without education, Eddy Kenzo won the BET Award in 2016 being the first East African artiste to get that. He also went ahead and helped the known young dancers the ghetto kids to rise to fame and also start up their life with his song Sitya loss the became very popular.

Recently, Eddy Kenzo had a music festival ‘Eddy Kenzo festival’ which became very successfull yet it was the first ever musical festival headlined by an artiste in Uganda. Soon after that, Eddy Kenzo broke the record being nominated in the biggest musical Awards in the world ‘Grammy Awards‘.

Eddy Kenzo didn’t only break the Ugandan record, he also broke the East African record because none of the East African artiste has ever been nominated in the Grammys. Instead of Ugandans being happy for him for raising the Ugandan flag so high, so many of them started criticizing him saying they don’t know his song that was nominated.

Isma Olaxess being one of the people that criticized Eddy Kenzo, said in Uganda there are many good songs and better artistes than Eddy Kenzo that would be nominated because the song they are taking about didn’t deserve the nomination. Outspoken Isma said Eddy Kenzo’s song with MattaB that was nominated is not known anywhere both in Africa and America and on top of that it is not lyrically good.

“When you see the song they nominated, it’s not known in America nor Africa. Even lyrical-wise, the song is not that good. Many Ugandans are still asking themselves how that song was nominated”. – Isma Olaxess
