The police officers of Yumbe district were shocked as one of their own was denied first aid and lost his life after a fatal accident while on their way to work on Monday morning
AIP Cheptoek Brian, the deceased, left for work as usual with his colleagues but little did he know that this would be his last day on earth. Cheptoek was knocked down by a speeding vehicle which is yet to be identified by police officers in Yumbe. Efforts to save his life fell on deaf ears as the health workers failed to offer him first aid.
Cheptoek Brian was recently posted to Yumbe District after training as his new work station, he took pride in drawing people from all walks of life closer to God and the police was just the right profession for his said calling.
Brian who hails from Kapchorwa district attended schools like Testimony Christian Primary School where he emerged the best in the region, Sebei College Tegeres where he was a role model to many students because of the way he articulated his words and his discipline, he attended Kyambogo College school where he served as a house prefect and also the scripture union club from there he joined the Ever Blazing Blessers where he fully dedicated his life for the recruitment of souls to the kingdom of God. He joined Kyambogo University where he pursued an engineering course.
As of press time Brian’s body was in the Arua Referral Hospital’s mortuary where it will be picked by the police constables and transported to the Uganda Police’s Headquarters in Naguru and from there it will be taken to his family home in Kapchorwa district where he will be laid to rest.
Efforts to contact Yumbe District Police Commander were futile as he kept decline all the phone calls, so the question that lingers between friends and family is why the Uganda Police Force hasn’t come out to say anything on this matter. Why did the government facilities refuse to offer first aid to an injured police office?
More details will follow as investigations are still ongoing on this matter.
