One needs money to succeed in life. The Western Uganda singer Madotex explains why music in the central region hits more than that in the western region.
While appearing on a local television, Madotex stated that it is not easy to succeed as a musician in the West. He says that for one to succeed in music, he /she must invest lots of money in it. And most of Uganda’s Western artists do not have enough money to invest in Music.

Comparing the videos of western Musician with those of Central Musician. There is always a big difference in content and videos. Madotex added saying that in Kampala there are always many shows where musicians perform and get money unlike in Mbarara. There are no regular shows in the West which has become a hindrance to musicians.
“Honestly speaking to succeed in Music, you must have to invest a lot of money. This is not easy for Western Uganda’s musicians because most of them do not have enough money to invest in music. They too lack managers. They are under their own management which is not easy for one to make ends meet. This is why the music videos and content are not very good. We do not have regular shows and concerts for us to perform and get money.” He said.
