MAMA Awards 2021 Kampala Allegedly Cancelled

Breaking news coming in at Times Uganda news desk affirm that the music awaited for MTV MAMA Awards that were slated for 20th this month have been cancelled. With this communication, its is being asserted that new date yet to be announced later on.
This development has just been confirmed by one of the event’s coordinators and media personality
Douglas Lwanga with the reasons for cancellations still remain uncertain. Although, the MAMA awards are confirmed to be cancelled.
“NO MTV AWARDS THIS FEB. The #MTVMAMA Awards have been postponed. The Awards which had been scheduled for 20th Feb 2021 will occur on another date that will be communicated” Douglas Lwanga affirmed.
It should however be noted that Uganda was set to host its first ever historical musical event this year at
the capital Kampala that would feature international and world over music stars.
However, many speculations from several analysts and critics assert that the political atmosphere in the country might have championed the cancellation of the most anticipated event of the year.
In addition, the Uganda Tourism Board had invested in a lot of money to pull the awards to the Pearl of Africa. This keeps the awards fever cooled down until the organizing committee lets the cat out of the sack.
