The magistrate’s Court along Buganda Road has issued an Arrest Warrant against the controversial city Pastor Franklin Mugisha Mondo over fraud charges.
Mondo who was accused of obtaining money from the public by false pretense amounting to over Ugx 4.5 billion in the promise of offering government scholarships.
It was however reported that the pastor conspired with fellow fraudsters who were summoned by the courts of law and since then, the accused’s lawyers have failed to present evidence.
However, pastor Mondo secretly exiled himself after learning being convicted in relation to the charges slapped on him which he has failed to defend himself from.
Furthermore, the state lawyers however asked the magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu yesterday for a trial after the vocal pastor faked to have gone for the medication in South Africa the prompted the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Meanwhile, Mondo’s accomplice Maggie Kayima alias Nabbi Omukazi has been further remanded to prison until 12th February when the court will have another hearing.
Nabbi Omukazzi is allegedly accused of trying to aid Pastor Sirajji Ssemande to escape punishment after defrauding over ugx4.5 billion.
