Rapper GNL Zamba, born Earnest Nsimbi is a popular and influential hip hop artist in Uganda. He
says he was creative enough to make one Billion shillings from his independent owned platform. He says he got all this money from his Spear Album which he released in November 2020.
Surprisingly in his 11 tracks none was played on radio and he also had no show since it was
during lockdown.
“How I made a billion shillings during lockdown on an Album that did not play on radio and without a show. 100,000 paid downloads. On an independent platform I own and control,( not Spotify, not YouTube or Apple)” GNL Zamba stated.
Understanding ownership and the purpose of the Afropunk ( HipHop/Rock) movement in fighting for justice in the era of Universal Pan Africanist and Black lines Matter” He said
In this album he calls for triumphs in personal growth and collective solidarity. According to him this album ties Uganda’s past together with present life in America with an inspirational, creative vision of the future.
