Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga is a Ugandan lawyer and politician who has been the speaker of Parliament of Uganda for the last two parliaments.
She is the first female speaker in the history of the parliament of Uganda where she succeeded Edward Ssekandi in 2011.
In a meeting with the Busonga legislators in parliament where she sought support in the speakership race, she revealed that she is facing a stiff competition to retain her speakership position from Jacob Oulanyah.
However, she also said that she is not ready to give up on her seat even if offered the Vice President Seat by the President and the central executive committee because when your a Vice President then your working under someone. She wants to remain the top boss.
I can not accept the office of the Vice President even if offered to me by the president and central executive committee for me to bow out of the speakership race.” Honorable Rebecca Kadaga said.
