Hon. Francis Zaake set to appear in court tomorrow over torture cases

Mityana Municipality Honorable member of parliament Francis Zaake Mutebi is set to appear in court tomorrow the 5th of August in Mityana against the RPC Mityana and other officials over charges of being tortured and assaulted after ‘defying’ presidential directives on COVID19 in April.

The legislator who was arrested in April and allegedly beaten up by the officials in Mityana magistrate court accusing the officers of criminal charges when he was apprehended and taken to a safe house for defying Presidential directives by donating relief items and food items to his constituents minus the consent of the health ministry officials.

Below is Francis Zaake Butebi’s statements on tomorrow’s case where he wants the officers responsible charged and penalized for their actions.

Friends, 

Hearing of the criminal case I filed at Mityana Magistrates Court against police officers who illegally arrested and tortured me in April kicks off tomorrow at 9am.

Wamala Region RPC Kagarura Bob, Mityana DPC Mwine Alex Mukono and SIU’s Twesigye Hamdan, among other police criminals, will be in the dock to answer for their crimes. Please join me then as I escalate my search for justice.

The Court is located a few meters away from Mityana Central Police Station” Zaake stated.

It should however be noted that the youthful legislator has been involved and in such acts of torture and being beaten by the security operatives,  the first scenario was during the Audacity incident where the legislator was beaten to near death.

However, on contrary Police spokesperson dismissed the allegations then asserting that Hon. Francis Zaake knocked himself in the ambulance where he was being transported in refuting that the security never had a hand in situation.
