Today, Thursday, 8 July, she has started the phase of sending the covid relief fund. Godfrey Oloya a boda boda rider in Gulu is the first Ugandan to confirm that he has received 100,000 Ugandan shillings as the covid relief fund.
As it was earlier communicated by the Prime Ministry of Uganda, Robina Nabanja that the covid relief money to the vulnerable Ugandans will be sent using mobile money.
While appearing on NTV, the Prime Minister has proved all who were doubting her wrong when she made a phone call to Oloya. In confirmation, Godfrey Oloya said he was able to receive the money which exited the many.
“ Hello Oloya, this is the Prime Minister of Uganda. Have you received your money.” She asked
“I have received madam” Oloya responded.
However it should be remembered that this came as a surprise because many Ugandans never expected it as they thought that the government will keep buying time until the lockdown is done.
