Confirmed and exclusive news reaching our desk indicate that it is not all well with the Kamwokya-based Record Television to close which is one of the oldest TV stations in Uganda. Word getting to us indicate that, the station is exiting Uganda due to unavoidable circumstances.
Our inside Times Cops reveal to us more that, all workers have been instructed to lay down their tools and business will be closing on 1st of April 2021. On this, workers are being given time to look for other jobs elsewhere as the proprietors ponder on what to do next.
On the other note, we come to learn that, Record television after the close, it might as well rebrand and return bigger with a different face (name) and different bosses. This comes in after a rumor of a new business partner that came on board who bought shares in the business.
More so, The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has instructed Record Television to follow procedures of closure which include, making official announcements in newspapers, on the TV and communicate to the advertisers appropriately.

WHY DID RECORD TELEVISION CLOSE?
We are reliably informed that, this happens shortly after the station fell out with Mike Mukula who had earlier bought shares in the company near to elections time. It is intimated that, at this time, the station was performing fairly than previously.
And then, Mike Mukula later pulled out with all his new equipment that he had brought along with him. This left a huge gap to be filled that easily.
