As a result of consummation of the merger, Elon Musk became the sole director of Twitter. In April 2022, Elon Mask made an unsolicited bid worth $44 for the social media platform saying he wanted to turn Twitter into a private company and allow people to speak freely on the service.

After closing a $44 billion transaction to take Twitter private, Elon Musk laid out a series of ideas for a new verification process on the platform. In a thread of the tweets, he said he will give power to people by offering verification through Twitter blue tick for $8 a month.

“This will also give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators.” he explained after tweeps complaining about the current lands and peasant system for who has or doesn’t have a blue check mark.

He continued and said, “There will be a secondary tag below the name for someone who is a public figure, which is already the case for politicians.” He ended and said that to all complainers, continue complaining but it will cost $8.

Before the purchase of twitter, Elon Musk was known as one of the ”stubborn boys” on the blue app and after his take over, he is still the same Elon Musk.
