Still, the same people should make sure they follow the government stipulated SOPs as per Ministry of Health directives put in place, in regard to COVID-19. This will be closely monitored by all security agencies and bodies that include the Uganda Police Force.
It should however be noted that, the Electoral Commission conducted the nomination of candidates for Local Government Councils and Parliamentary Elections. These will go from 21st September to 5th October and on 15th and 16th October 2021, respectively.
The nomination exercise attracted a high number of aspirants who include party-sponsored candidates and independents. The Commission is compiling the details of all nominated candidates and will publish the results in due course.
Following the conclusion of the above nomination exercises, the Commission is now left with one task, of carrying out the nomination process of Presidential candidates. This is a very sensitive part which is supposed to be handled separately.
And our close sources indicate that, this exercise will be conducted on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2020. Remember, we have so far seen more than 12 people that are willing to vie for the top spot in Uganda, and more are still showing interest. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine and President Yoweri Museveni, are the major spots of focus in the race.
