It is sad to announce that Dr. Miria Matembe has resigned from her position as the Chairperson of Citizens Coalition for Electoral Democracy In Uganda.
It is alleged that her resignation is due to her current suspension of CCEDU by the NGO Bureau last year in August due to her political beliefs.
Furthermore, she believes this suspension was done by the NGO hand in hand with the Electoral Commission.
“In line with the Article 20(a) of CCEDU’s constitution I therefore tender my resignation from the position of Chairperson of CCEDU with immediate effect,” she wrote
She was grateful for her service she gave the organization at large (CCEDU) and the citizens with honesty, integrity and modesty.
Dr. Miria Matembe was also grateful to the entire staff of CCEDU for the commitment and passion they give to the organisation with the different challenges that come their way.
“Please accept my prayers for your success and that of the entire CCEDU membership going forward. As the word of God says, ‘God is not unjust, he will not forget our work and he never fails’. I believe he will find a way for our organisation,” she added.
