The Express Fc’s goalkeeper, Denis Otim revealed why he loves football so much.The superb goalie says the family involvement in sports and his passion for the beautiful game attracted him for sports. However, the youngster states losing to Cameroon in penalty shootouts ,2018 in Yauode Cameroon hugely tackled his mind.
Otim was born to Mr Jackson Openy and Mrs Mary Adrine Aguti in Mbarara. He attended his education levels at Mbarara Municipal school and Mbarara High school respectively. In 2015, the talented Otim led Mbarara Fc to promotion in the 4th Division.
He was awarded the Sports Personality of the year 2017 Blink Teens Award. Sports Personality of the year 2018 Walk of Fame Teens Award was a consecutive award. StarTimes Uganda Premier League was his debut with Nyamityoboora Fc in 2019. Additionally,Otim was part of the Uganda Hippos call-ups (U-20) in 2018 and 2019.
“Balancing education with sports is one of the challenges I faced, I have managed to stay in shape and healthy through regular personal training from home, plus enough rest and proper diet.” Denis asserted. The star dreams to guide his darling club Express Fc to many trophies. He still hopes to win the Golden glove award in the 1st Division.
The 20-year-old also looks forward to playing professional football in the diaspora and the National Team Call up. In general, the custodian praises the following people who guided him; his beloved parents and devoted siblings who gave 100% support for him. Ham Sports Academy-Mbarara lifted him to the limelight.
