Beverages giant, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa has broken the ice, felt the pain of vulnerability and partnered with the Birungi Charities, a charity organization. This is in a form of reaching out to the vulnerable girls in Northern Uganda and donate pads to them.
This is done through the charity campaign dubbed Pads Thru Covid (#PadsThruCovid), which was started by digital influencer Esther Birungi. It started not so long ago, but the impact is widely felt, results are tangible.
At first, donations were stretched to vulnerable women in Kamwokya, Bwaise, Entebbe, Bushenyi, Kasese (to the flood victims), Kamuli, Laaku, Kaliro and Buikwe. And later on, she decided to make it permanent and lobby more for the vulnerable.
Now, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is to partner with The Birungi Charities, in the upcoming #PadsThruCovid outreach that is slated to take place on the 28th of November this year in Moroto district. The same beverages giant, has continued to call upon everyone to be part of the movement.
“The Coca-Cola Beverages Africa family is glad to supporting the upcoming #PadsThruCovid outreach that will be happening in Moroto district on the 28th November. You too can be part of the movement” an official statement from Coca-Cola read.
WHAT ESTHER SAYS ABOUT THIS
As communicated earlier, Birungi Charities is headed by a one Esther Birungi who is so keen on throwing a helping hand to those vulnerable groups especially the women. That is why she started the charity organization, to help her lobby for those that really are in need.
“I started this campaign because the pandemic was hard on the girl child, there was a time when we were locked up at home with no jobs or no money” Esther Birungi explained.
