Rumor started making rounds especially on social media about the death of Tanzanian president John Pombe Magufuli. This is since last week, and the whole rumor was surrounded by the ‘fact’ that he had succumbed to COVID-19. But here is the truth why president Pombe Magufuli is dead.
According to the Vice President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, the country will go into weeks of mourning after she confirmed that the president John Pombe Magufuli is dead at 62 years. In a televised speech on TBC , she announced that the President died of a heart condition on March 17, 2021, at about 6pm at Mzena Hospital in Dar Es Salaam where he was admitted on March 14.
The reason for his death is said to be a heart failure which could not be stopped by any doctor. The vice president trashes the rumor that was making rounds that he could have contracted the COVID-19. It should again be noted that, Magufuli had spent weeks without appearing in public, something that worried his people as it appeared unusual.
On the same note, Pombe Magufuli (dead) was on 1st November 2020 re elected to be the president of Tanzania who won a second term, with a landslide victory of more than 84% of the vote.. This left him beating his main opponent, Tundu Lissu, earned 13% of the vote.
