Political analyst Tamale Mirundi has revealed that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni realized the power of entertainment because of Bobi Wine. This came after Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who has been in the music industry for more than 20 years decided to join politics. First he became a Member of Parliament (MP) and later decided to contest as a president.
Anyone that contests as a president is a big threat to President Museveni. And for Bobi Wine he became a big threat because he was hugely supported by fellow artistes and the youth. As a way of putting him down, President Museveni also decided to start engaging with the people in the entertainment industry. Through Bobi Wine, he knew the strength of music and up to now he is still trying to keep them engaged.
In the concluded 2021 general elections, President Museveni decided to use some musicians like Bebe Cool, Big Eye Starboss to campaign for him. On new years as people had gone at a freedom city for a concert and to watch fireworks, some ended up losing their lives in the stampede. As a way of compensating for the families of those that lost their beloved ones, President Museveni have each family 5 Million shillings to help them in the burial.
According to Tamale Mirundi, those are effects of Bobi Wine because he showed him that the entertainment industry has a very huge impact. Outspoken Tamale Mirundi said the problem is that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is remembering to do certain things late when Ugandans have got their trust away from him.
