National Unity Platform (NUP) party presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine bodyguard, Nobert Ariho may face treason charges. While speaking to journalists at the government media center in Kampala, police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga revealed that the detectives want Nobert Ariho to explain to them where he got government property that he poses.

Enanga said that police have established that Bobi Wine bodyguard Nobert Ariho, was seen in both video and still photos throwing a tear gas canister at policemen who were exchanging words with Bobi Wine. He added that the tear gas canister which Ariho threw targeted policemen but unfortunately it almost hit Bobi Wine.

He added that Ariho was among the group of NUP supporters who threatened to burn police patrols in Kayunga after insulting policemen. He said that Ariho put the life of Bobi Wine and those surrounding him in danger when he threw the teargas canister in an immature way.

They mixed petroleum with other chemicals with a mission of burning our police vehicles and harming the police officers,Enanga explained.

Enanga further more, revealed that the chaotic violent scenes which are always witnessed at Bobi Wine’s political campaigns are created by himself because of his stubbornness and failure to follow the COVID-19 guidelines.

For instance, when  honorable Kyagulanyi  reached Kyampisi, he jumped out of his car and started exchanging words with our officers. We Are not targeting him as a presidential candidate but we strongly condemn the campaign strategies and tactics used by NUP, because they are in total breach of COVID-19, as well as the bail conditions given to him by the Iganga Chief Magistrate Court,” He said.
