Jermaine Lamarr Cole popularly known as J-Cole has signed to play along with the Rwandan Patriots in the Basketball Africa League.
J-Cole is expected to play as a shooting forward in the first time league that is sponsored by the NBA. He is expected to play in Jersey number 15 on the Rwanda National team during the league alongside thirteen other players
Haydee Ndayishimiye the teams’ chief operations officer revealed that J-Cole is very talented and has a high IQ for the game no wonder they picked him to be part of their national team.
“J. Cole is a very good shooter. We picked him because He has a really high IQ for the game.”
Additionally, she stated that J-Cole has a history of playing basketball as well as the passion to play the game. This has enabled him to fit perfectly with the rest of the team, she confirmed as she said;
“He has a history of playing the game … We just thought that he is a great fit with the team and as we have seen in practice he is gelling well with the team. While they are practicing with him, they are looking good out there. He really compliments the team,.”
However, she did not disclose the terms of his contract only stating that it is confidential and he is going to play with the national team till the end of the tournament which will be on 30th May.
The Patriots are expected to have their first game today and will be playing against Nigeria’s national team the River Hoopers.
