With the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFA) slated to return this year, the CEO Bryan Ahumuza has revealed what to expect. While celebrating his 32nd birthday this week, Abryanz said that people should expect a creme de la creme event as the event has been absent for the past 2-3 years due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Abryanz said that the awards will take place on the 16th of December.
This event had become renowned allover Africa especially with the different celebrities coming from outside Uganda to grace it. Abryanz was asked who he will be outsourcing this time round. The fashionista said that this is one of the themes he wants people to stop associating with the event.
Its primary goal is to celebrate fashion. However, attention has always been turned to the celebrities instead ignoring the main theme which is Fashion and the nest designers. He added that the celebrities indeed will come but emphasis should be put on the fashion side. Apparently, Abryanz also addressed those who claim that he sells his merchandise at exorbitant fares. He simply said that he has his target market who are able customers.
“People should expect a glamorous event this year because we have spent close to 3 years’ minus having one. The ASFA’S will go down on the 16th of December.”
“Whereas we are going to have different celebrities including those outside Uganda, we want people and the media to focus on the main theme which is celebrating fashion. Often times attention is channeled to these celebrities overlooking the best designers and fashionistas. For those saying I sell my merchandise at high prices, everyone has their target market,” said Abryanz.
The designer has completely revolutionized the fashion industry in the country. Many have linked him to American rapper and fashion guru Kanye West. All these have weird fashion designs yet adored by many.
