Ugandan born veteran journalist has quit Voice of Africa after 29 years of service and 20 years
of working with 20 years at the helm of of Straight Talk Africa.
His resignation was announced through an official statement that was realized by the Voice of
America informing the general public about the resignation of long time host Shaka Ssali as it
read;
“After 29 years at the Voice of America and 20 years at the helm of Straight Talk Africa, Shaka
Ssali is retiring.” The note says. Also, Shaka Ssali bid farewell to his colleagues at the Voice of America as well as his fans from the continent that he shared memorable times with which made his experience a fascinating one.
During his course of work, he has hosted nearly all the popular African dignitaries ranging from
president to politicians from various African country which has exposed him to a wide range of
people.
Due to his expertise, he was called upon to host the 2016 Ugandans Presidential debate which
was the first one of it’s kind. The event was held at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Shaka Ssali replacement at the Voice of America, Straight Talk Africa show will be Haydè Adams as he introduced in his last show.
Haydè Adams is a South African born journalist who is largely experienced in the politics and social realities. She has covered a number of political and social realities on the continent for both local and International media.
