When you look at a pineapple or it’s juice all you think about is it’s sweetness. But we forget that there is more to pineapples than just taking it for it’s sweetness. We usually forget the nutritional value that comes along with it.
With a few people finding time to sit at home and make some juice. Most people in Uganda have normalized taking street or hotel juice which is always passion or mango. This has blinded people to the fact that other fruits are equally important and good for the body.
Pineapple juice is said to be more effective home made cough syrup than real syrups form the hospitals. This is because pineapples contain Bromelain that is anti-inflammatory compound and can safeguard your body in case you are suffering from cough.
To make this syrup at home one needs the following a certain recipe. The ingredients include, one cup fresh pineapple juice, one pinch of Cayenne pepper, one and a half table spoons of ginger as a quarter lemon juice.
Once you have mixed all these ingredients together, you can be sure you have attained the perfect juice that will help not just you but your family at large to fight off illnesses like cough which are rampant especially among school going children.
Although all the other juices are important, let us not forget other fruits from which we can make juice as we may end up missing out on certain nutrients due to focusing more on others.
