Finance Minister Matia Kasaija and State Minister for Finance and Privatization Evelyn Anite are being investigated by State House’s Anti Corruption. They are accused of messing with the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) board appointments and eating from it and not delivering.
Did they really try to change who gets picked for the board? Some say they wrote letters and changed the dates on purpose to trick people. A whistleblower told on them, and now everyone wants to know what really happened.
It’s important that the UIA board is chosen fairly, or it could mean trouble for investments in Uganda. This was sparked recently when Finance Minister Kasaija dissolved the Uganda Investment Authority board chaired by Morrison Rwakakamba and on September 26, Kasaija appointed his political assistant in Kibaale district, Robert Kyamanywa, as the chairman board.
But wait, there’s more! Minister Anite has been accused of getting rich in shady ways, too. A news report says she built a fancy hotel called L’Hotel Le Confidentiel and nobody knows where she got the money. And that is just a tip of the ice burg, more is being revealed about this.

For example, before Morrisson Rwakakamba was fired, he had revealed to some close sources that Evelyn Anite was using her office and position to extract money from investors. More so, Mukiza Robert the Director General accused her of allocating land to her brother instead of investors.
