Two days ago, Uganda woke up to the sad news of the death of Mr Humphrey Mayanja the older brother of singers, Jose Chameleone, Weasel and Pallaso. According to sources who knew him, he was a resilient and strong man who had unwavering love for his family. Biography
Humphrey Mayanja was born in the 1970’s was born to Mzee Gerald Mayanja and Prosy Mayanja who hail from Mityana. Prior to his death, Humphrey has been a real warrior.
Early Life
He was the first-born son of the Mayanja family. His siblings are Dr Jose Chameleone (Joseph Mayanja), Weasel (Douglas Mayanja), Pallaso (Pius Mayanja) AK-47 (Emmanuel Mayanja rip), Henry Kasozi and their sister Josephine.
Despite the family being so much musically gifted, Humphrey and two of his siblings, Henry and Josephine chose career paths outside of the arts industry.
Family
He had a life of his own including a wife and kids though much is not known about them. He’s also been close to his family.
Despite having famous brothers he didn’t lust for fame and supported them behind curtains. Humphrey Mayanja has been close to both Chameleone, Weasel and Pallaso.
Net Worth
Humphrey Mayanja was a wealthy man who owned various properties and he stayed for so long in the US where he was earning some good money. By the time of his death, he was worth around $200k.
Health Complications
Around July 2023, Humphrey revealed how he was suffering from stomach complications. He underwent a surgery to feel better but the problem persisted.
Later he was diagnosed with colon cancer. This heavily struck his him and his family with dismay. He underwent nasogastric intubation and surgery but the situation didn’t get any better.

He was flown back to Uganda from New York where he has been living for the past couple of years. By the time of his death, he’s been at Uganda Cancer Institute receiving treatment. And it is where he died from on 30th March 2024.
