The Voice Africa has only been held in Nigeria and for the first ever, the musical contest will be featured in other African countries where Airtel operates. The hunt for Africa’s best vocalist is now on as The Voice Africa together with Airtel spreads to 14 countries where 7 Ugandas will contend against contestants from the other 13 countries including, Nigeria, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, DRC, Kenya and many more.
The registration for The Voice Africa season 1 is open to the 14 countries where Airtel operates and has market presence. Participants for The Voice Africa will be required to have an Airtel line to register for the competition, submit a 1-minute video of them singing and upload it on The Voice Africa website. The closing date for the registration is November 10, 2022.
In Uganda, Airtel has set up areas that will support intending contestants and these include,Capital Shoppers supper market, Agip Motel in Mbarara, Akamwesi Mall in Kampala, Garden Restaurant Café in FortPortal and many more.
Those that will be successful will participate in the live auditions that will be hosted in Uganda and from there, the selected strongest seven vocalists will be flown out to Nigeria to be part of the grand final show with other successful contenders from the selected 13 countries.
Next will be the blind auditions where judges will seat and select a contestant basing on their vocal abilities. The selected participants will be trained by the judges for the knockout round and in the final stage. 16 superstars from across Africa including 2 from Uganda will compete against each other in a live broadcast which will take place in March 2023.
The Voice Africa will be broadcasted on NTV Uganda and KFM Radio every Sunday at 8: pm.
