Government to Double it’s funding for ICT Incubation Hubs

The government of Uganda has committed to increasing it’s funding for ICT Incubation hubs doubling the ICT lab numbers in Schools to aid the development of ICT ideas over the next 6 years. This initiative is to boost these incubation hubs and empower there stand.

The vice president Jessica Alupo says this shall go along way in addressing the existing unemployment gaps and aid the inaugural ICT fair which saw over 1000 Youths get free training, job’s and apprenticeship opportunities.

The government through the ministry OF ICT and National ICT constructed the national ICT incubation hubs primary to establish an environment for ICT innovators facing challenges of work space and internet connectivity. The innovation hub also consists of meeting rooms, presentation rooms, board rooms and 350 auditoriums for work shops and other events.

The ICT sector has been one of the least funded sectors. The plan of increasing it’s funding and allocating more resources and time could help it thrive given that ICT innovation is one of most paying sectors in the world.
