A group of terror people called the Japodola gang were causing a lot of trouble and putting people on tenterhooks in Mukono. They were breaking into homes and stealing property. But the Mukono police, with help from the community, caught them.
For a while, the people in Mukono, especially in places like Kyungu cell and Nabuti, were really scared. The Japodola gang was breaking into houses and stealing stuff, making everyone feel unsafe. It’s like they thought they could just get away with anything!
The police were on the case, though. The Mukono police first talked to people in the community and gathered information. Finally, it had enough to make a move in a big operation, they arrested 12 people they think are part of the Japodola gang.
The police found all sorts of tools they used for their crimes -master keys to unlock doors, knives, wires, and even pangas and axes. Wow, that’s some serious stuff.
Who Are These Guys?
The people they arrested were a mix of men and women, and they had different jobs. Some of their names are Max Opio, Alex Orach, and Joseph Ochen (who also goes by the nickname “Snake”). There’s also Patrick Ochara, Richard Omita, Dickson Lubanga, Thomas Oboth, Korea Bogere, Steven Ebeli, Gerald Nabende, and Prossy Nakitende.
And get this, one of them, Micheal Ndeke, is actually a soldier in the Ugandan army. He was supposed to be protecting people, not stealing from them. Another one, Prossy Nakitende, works at a bar and was selling drugs on the side. It’s like a crazy mix of people, all doing bad things together.
Patrick Onyango, who speaks for the police, said they are really serious about making sure these gang members get punished. He said that police are committed to ensuring the notorious gang is crashed and peace is restored in Mukono.
“We are committed to ensuring that the Japodola gang is prosecuted, and the safety of Mukono’s residents is restored.” Sounding the loudest drum to this gang to know that its time is done.
The police couldn’t have caught these guys without the help of the people in Mukono. Everyone worked together to keep their community safe. The police got tips from residents and used that information to track down the gang.
