Bar owners have resorted to paying back to the society since the lockdown in 2020. This will enable the Bar owners generate income and give back to the consumers.
The President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni announced on the closure of bars until the suppression of the COVID-19 virus.
While launching the new promotion dubbed “Club Beat Coin” at Nile Breweries Limited Head Office in Port Bell Luzira last week, the Country Director David Daniel Valencia said the sector should be opened and allow the operators to enforce the standard operating procedures to ensure that the spread of Covid-19 is minimised.
“This will help to boost the country’s economy as well as helping various businesses linked to this sector to slowly recover from the Covid-19 effects,” he said.
Mr. Valencia said that Club Pilsner invested millions in this promotion which will be running for three months.
“Beat Coin is going to be the currency on the beer market in Uganda for the duration of the campaign. Distributors, wholesalers and sellers all stand a chance to benefit from this.” Mr. Valencia added that this is part of giving back to the communities. Because the country was affected by the covid-19 pandemic, its one of the strategy to activate the retail business inline of implementing the SOPs.
“We need to continue to adhere the covid-19 SOPs because the pandemic is here to stay and as a company we have managed to maintain them at the same time to support our clients ,” he said.
