When Azawi released her “my year” song, she certainly meant every single word she sang as she has simply gone from glory to glory this year.
As the MTN Pulse sponsored Buzz Teenz Awards, Azawi was in position to grab four awards from various categories although two of them were affiliated to her “slow dancing” song both in audio and video.
At the event, Azawi was crowned the artist of the year, “slow dancing” was also awarded as the song of the year, 2021 and also the flyest teenz video of 2021. At the same event, she was also named the female artist of the year.
Following the various awards she attained, Azawi posted on her twitter handle thanking all her teenage fans for supporting her music career, “My year, a big shout out to my Teen fans. Thank y’all for loving me & supporting my music.”
Shortly after Azawi had attained the awards, even Dr. Maggie Kigozi admitted that Azawi had indeed taken over the music industry and congratulated her upon her wins as she said, “proud of our new entrant in the music industry #Azawi she goes straight to the top.”
These are not the only awards that the artist has won this year as she was in position to take home multiple awards during the recently concluded Janzi award including the female artist of the year award for which she had been nominated with Sheebah and Spice Diana.
Since dropping her “African music” album, Azawi has ruled the airwaves and there’s no doubt and more and greater things lay ahead for her.
