“African Music” album Crowned Album of the Year
Azawi’s “African music” album has been crowned the album of the year during the 2021Janzi awarding ceremony.
In this category, Ykee Benda’s “Kirabo” album and Eddy Kenzo’s “Made in Africa” album had also been nominated. However, after the voting process had been concluded, “African music” emerged victorious.
The African music album comprises of sixteen songs of which five feature other musicians such as Majje featuring Fik Fameica, Nkucekele featuring Eddy Kenzo, Loving is Easy featuring Janzi band, Thankful featuring Benon Mugumya and Face me featuring A Pass.
Other songs that were part of this album include FWA fwa fwa, Slow Dancing, Tubatiisa, My Year, Party Mood, African music, Ku kido, Gimme, Bamututte, Craving you Heavy and Ache for You.
Recently, Azawi dropped her “party mood” video and it quickly captured people’s attention even being used for a trend on TikTok where everyone is trying out the signature dance moves shown in the song video.
Earlier on, “Slow dancing” had also received the same attention as it was listened and danced to far and wide all owing to the fact that it had wonderful lyrics, and beats which everyone felt the need to dance.
During the same awarding ceremony, Azawi was also ranked the artist of the year surpassing Sheebah Karungi and Spice Diana who had also been nominated for the same award.
